Cenk Censored by the Huffington Post

Cenk -- Link Between Violence and Wing Nut Talk

Monday Cenk Uygur posted his reaction to the Tucson Massacre, the shooting of Congresswoman, Democrat, Gabrielle Giffords by Jared Loughner, in the context of a number of wing nut politicians and pundits who used violent rhetoric and imagery, linking the violence to right-wing hate speech. On Tuesday the Huffington Post removed the post as too controversial. Last Night on his show The Young Turks discussed explained reaction to the action taken by Huffington Post. The post is at this link. See the video.

My take on this? Cenk only pointed out the obvious, which is: the wing nuts, hate talkers, are acting irresponsibly, by throwing around violent metaphors.

Arizona Sheriff Calls Out Rush Limbaugh

Links Right Wing Hate Speech and the Violence.

Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, whose department is investigating the events of the Tucson massacre, during which twenty Americans were shot, six killed and Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was left critically wounded, called out Rush Limbaugh for continuing to engage in "irresponsible" vitriol, which contributes to the toxic political climate, that leads to political violence..

Jon Stewart on the Arizona Shootings

Asking for the Grownups To Take Charge?

Last night on The Daily Show, Jon Stewart reacted to the Arizona shootings, the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and the massacre in Tucson. Mr. Stewart is Mr. Civility, and so with serious-comedy, more serious than comic, serious because the Arizona tragedy calls for serious reflection, and a little comedy, because comedy and satire is what he does. In so many words, he calls on America to remain calm,  and to not point to each other looking for ones to blame, but to point to the direction where there may be a way out of the toxic world that American politics has become.

The Problem Is Right Wing Hate Speech

From out of their mouths come hate.

Last night on his show, Cenk Uygur, the host of The Young Turks, broke down the Tucson Massacre and the attempted assassination of Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords at the hands of Jared Loughner, in the context of the various right wing politicians and pundits, who use violent rhetoric and imagery to appeal to their listeners and followers "to take out" Democrats. See the video.

Tea Party Spin Unwounded

Tonight on MSNBC's Hardball, Chris Matthews took Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips to task. Tea Party Nation is one of the largest Tea Party groups.

Mr Phillips came on the show, in wake of the Tucson Massacre and the assassination attempt against Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, to give the standard Tea Party and wing nut push back to folks pointing out that Tea Party rhetoric has poisoned the political debate. Mr. Phliips' defense of the Tea Party's vitriolic political rhetoric was to deny that the Tea Party was / is guilty as charged, then / and to repeat the party line that both sides are doing it.

Both sides are doing it? Sheer nonsense.

Chris Matthews asked him to defend his statements, and of course he could not.

Violence and Threats Against Palin's Hit List Targets

Recklessly Endangering

Recklessly, Sarah Palin targeted members of Congress, whom she wanted to defeat in the 2010 mid-term elections, with crosshairs of a gun sight. This may have led to the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and the massacre in Tucson, but it probably did lead to death threats and vandalism against persons she targeted,

Two other Democrats, Harry Mitchell and Ann Kirkpatrick, who were targeted by Palin, made her hit list, came forth today to tell of death threats against them, probably by Tea Party and Palin supporters, which led to them canceling town-hall events.

The Tucson Massacre and Sarah Palin's Blame

This morning the on-line journal Solon is predicting that the shooting of Congresswoman Gabriella Giffords and the others during the assassination attempt in Tucson, may mean that Sarah Palin's political influence could end.

Before the Tucson shooting, the half-term Alaskan governor's political future has been on the decline. Ms. Palin's popularity numbers have been falling in the polls, and more and more GOP and conservative commentators have said that she is unelectable as a candidate for President in 2012 .

Palin's people and Tea Partiers are lighting up the Internet and the media with the line --"The shooting is not Sarah's fault."

The GOP-Tea Party Spin: "Them Too!"

The media is reporting that the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, the subsequent massacre, may open the door to an era of political civility, with members of both parties calling for a moment of holding hands and singing Kum By Ya. Some are saying the problem was toxic rhetoric coming from both sides.

Particularly, Tea Partiers are putting forth the spin on the tragedy that both sides and everybody is to blame, which means that nobody is to blame, and in their opinion, they most certainly are blameless.

There is blood on the hands of GOP -Tea Partiers

The attempted assassination of Congresswoman. Gabrielle Giffords, in Tucson, and the subsequent deaths of six people, including a federal judge and a nine year old child, is a very serious thing. The alleged shooter is the kind of guy who listens to the nut speech of right wing demagogues, and the hate talk of political entertainers, whom urge their followers, in so many words, to kill liberals and to kill Democrats.

Sarah Palin and other right wing nut jobs targeted Congresswoman Giffords for elimination, during the midterm elections. Sarah Palin placed the Congresswoman on the Palin targeted list, depicting the crosshairs of a gun sight over the Congresswoman's district.

Tea Party Will Go Bye Bye?

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, in an interview with David Gregory, recorded to day for broadcast this Sunday on NBC Meet The Press, predicts that the Tea Party will 'disappear' when the economy improves,

Sen Reid -- "The Tea Party was born because of the economy. The economy is probably the worst it's ever been except for maybe the Great Depression. The Tea Party will disappear as soon as the economy gets better. And the economy's getting better all the time." See the video.

Rudy Giuliani and Friends Support Terrorism?

Is Rudy A Crooked Terrorists Supporting Bum?

Rudy Giulian, the 911 mayor of the city of New York, and former Bush officials Michael Mukasey, Tom Ridge, and Fran Townsend, are being accused by the facts and in the reports of certain media as supporting terrorists? Hmmm? Giuliani? Mister America's mayor on 911? Giuliani?

Well, Rudy Giuliani will support practically anything that puts money into his pocket. But supporting terrorists?

Could A BP Type Oil Disaster Hadden Again?

Well, could a BP type oil disaster happen again? Yes, it could. The presidential commission investigating the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster, also known as the BP Gulf oil spill, has released a preview of its final report, warning that a similar disaster could / might / probably will happen, unless the energy industry changes its ways, and unless reforms are put into place.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the commission blames a "failure of management" for what happened, and that BP, to save time and money, made decisions which resulted in the spill, stated that the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig provider, BP and other companies were responsible for a series of "missteps and oversights."

Daley Chief of Staff -- Obama's 2012 Campaign In Full Swing

President Obama named William Daley as his chief of staff.

Mr. Obama has no intention on being a one-termer. No, sir. He's bigging up? Well, he's stocking up on  / with the corporate, heavy weight types. He has bagged one of the heaviest around.

William Daley? Of the Daleys of Chicago?

Yes, but more important than his connections in Chicago are in connections on Wall Street. He has what are called top notch corporate credentials.

He's William Daley of Wall Street, of JP Morgan Chase. He's William Daley with the Chamber of Commerce seal of approval. He's William Daley, the former Commerce Secretary of that old centrist, third way guy, whom we all still respect, Bill Clinton.

For The Last Time, I Am Not Appointing The Hair Club For Men Guy

Forget everything you think you know about politicians. That image you have of slick, well-informed go-getters with encyclopedic knowledge of law, due process and the myriad machinations of Washington D.C.'s hallowed halls? Malarkey. Most people in politics are just like most people everywhere else. They're selfish, panicky, more attuned to pop culture than high culture and their sense of propriety is only as strong as their sense of self-worth (which is never all that sturdy to begin with). I'm not saying that I don't believe in the American system, because I do, I'm just trying to express my exasperation at the fallout from my decision to appoint Gene Sperling to the top position of the National Economic Council. That's GENE Sperling, an accomplished economist who presided over the booming period of the Clinton administration, not Sy Sperling, the founder, president and most famous client of The Hair Club For Men.

Tea Party Anger And GOP Smoke

Yeah! Hopping mad?!

Some of us stay hopping mad about this issue or that issue. We are Americans and we believe the founders meant for us to stay hopping mad about something or the other to keep our leaders honest and straight.

Well, with Koch Brothers money, Fox News propaganda and paid GOP activists, the Tea Party Movement sprang up to take America back from whom? From big business? From Wall Street that almost ruined the country, and hurt all Americans who weren't rich? From the supporters of the Bush-Obama plan that saved the American economy and Wall Street? From members of the Chamber of Commerce, who assisted in financing the GOP-Tea Party candidates? Wait a minute here, please.

David Koch Checked On His Capitol Hill Investment

Big Money Bags Checks On The Boys

The big daddy of the Tea Party, the bankroller of activists who organized groups of Tea Partiers, with the goal of taking America back and handing it over to him and to his brother Charles, the money boss of much of today's modern conservative movement,  the founder of Americans for Prosperity, the group whose mission is to look out for the prosperity of Koch Industries and its related businesses, the grand polluter, the billionaire, David Koch, himself, made the rounds in Washington yesterday. He was in the Capitol for the swearing in ceremony of the boys and gals whose seats he brought in the new Congress. After the swearing in, to remind the new Tea Party-GOP Congressmen and gals who their big daddy is, he gave a party.

His Honor The 'Weeper' of the House!

Yesterday the 112th Congress officially opened. The GOP, with their corporate brought, majority took control of the House, and John Boehner was elected 'weeper' -- that's Speaker. Of course the gentleman cried.

Can one imagine if former speaker Nancy Pelosi had wept, what the reaction would have been? If she had publicly wept anytime during her Speakership? I guess, there are different rules for men and women when it comes to crying?

Of course Mr. Boehner's tearing is part of his act, and no thoughtful person takes his boo-hooing seriously. As no one is moved when Glenn Beck starts the water works. It just a piece of acting business that works for Mr. Beck on his cable TV show.

So what, the gentleman cried? But not as much as most of America will? We will all soon be weeping?

Pat Robertson: Jesus Loves Me And Hates Everybody Else?

The Rev. Pat Robertson reports that God has told him what to expect in the year 2011. In so many word the message can be summed up as -- "Jesus Loves Me; Everybody Else Can Go To Hell."

Pat Robertson says God told him what will happen in 2011, and it's good news for his 700 Club, for his CBN empire, for his CBN network, for his Regent University, for his American Center for Law and Justice, and for him, Pat Robertson, personally, and bad news for America -- Rev. Robertson says that God told him, quote Robertson, not quoting the Almighty -- "Your country is in grave peril..In two years will come a time of reckoning. Your currency will shrink in value. Unemployment will escalate. There will be turmoil." -- and accordingly to Pat Robertson, there is no good news for the rest of the world. See the video.
