The GOP Opened the Sewers

The GOP Opened the Sewers

First of all let me say this, the Tea Party and the Republican Party membership include millions of American who are not haters. The Tea Party is not a political party at all but a movement of angry people who are alienated from their government, and from many other societal institutions. Many are uncertain and fearful of what lies ahead, and.have been whipped  by fear mongers to be fearful of tomorrow. Again, the vast majority of the Tea Party are not haters. They are just frighten people worried about their future. But, there is a strong racist element within the Tea Party Movement.

The time has come to look into the face of hate and call it what it is. Smarty pants boys and gals at the GOP give aid and comfort to haters in the false belief that they can use haters to their own political advantage. These GOP folks have opened the sewers and the rats  have come out. Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh are hate mongers. Fox cable News practice hate mongering.  Some of the  leaders within the Republican Party, its RNC staffers, its operatives, some of its lobbyists  practice hate mongering. The Tea Party, a party started as a tool to be used against President Obama and the Democrats, is driven by haters

What happened yesterday, (3/20/10/) outside the capitol building-- An angry mob, who one  could have thought had stepped out of a time machine from fifty years ago, jeered African-American Congressmen with racial slurs, and one member of the mob  spat at an African-American  Congressmen.

"Rep. Andre Carson, D-Ind., told a reporter that as he left the Cannon House Office Building with Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., a leader of the civil rights era, some among the crowd chanted 'the N-word, the N-word, 15 times.' Both Carson and Lewis are black, and Lewis spokeswoman Brenda Jones also said that it occurred. -- 'It was like going into the time machine with John Lewis,' said Carson, a large former police officer who said he wasn't frightened but worried about the 70-year-old Lewis, who is twice his age. 'He said it reminded him of another time.' -- Kristie Greco, spokeswoman for Democratic Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., said a protester spit on Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., who is black and said police escorted the lawmakers into the Capitol.  -- Clyburn, who led fellow black students in integrating South Carolina's public facilities a half century ago, called the behavior  'absolutely shocking' -- 'I heard people saying things today that I have not heard since March 15, 1960, when I was marching to try to get off the back of the bus, ' Clyburn told reporters. (CBS News)

The smarty little devious minded GOP operatives and their talk radio partners,  who unleashed this hate, this venous poison on the body politics should be filled with shame. But so far they aren't  They think that the-in-your face race and hate tactics are going to bring them back into power. And so far,  the GOP leadership has not denounced the hate and the racism within the Tea Party movement.
