Is There a Personal Agenda Behind Glenn Beck's Attack on Van Jones?
Glenn Beck on JonesThe Fox News personality, Glenn Beck has sounded the battle cry to fuel a war on Environmental Advisor Van Jones whom Beck continuously refers to as the “Green Jobs Czar”. He criticizes Van Jones for his views with a fervent relentlessness that appears to be completely unfounded. His recent campaign against Van Jones is overly obsessive, even for Glenn Beck. But perhaps that drive to attack Van Jones is more than just political, perhaps there a personal, hidden agenda behind these attacks?
Glenn Beck's steady descent into insanity has been well noted by many Americans and activists groups who have noted that the Glenn Beck Hysteria has simply gone too far. Advertisers are now beginning to pull their support from the Glenn Beck show and certain groups are calling for a complete boycott of Fox News advertisers. Conveniently enough, one of those key groups happens to be the Color of Change organization that Beck has linked Van Jones to.
The Color of Change works to promote a voice for all of those that typically have gotten left behind in the political process and have joined together with the Fox News Boycott and other groups to get Beck pulled off the air for his outlandish propaganda campaigns that have stepped over the line more than once. Because of his outlandish attacks on the President and other figures and childish behavior, Beck has been losing advertisers. In reaction to this, he then devotes the majority of his show to trying to ruin the man behind one of the organizations responsible for the boycott and apparently he thinks that no one is going to make that connection. Although Beck is calling for Van Jones to resign, he has yet to give even validation for the resignation other than the obvious bias
It seems clear that Beck has a personal agenda and is trying to drag the American people into his personal grudge match and in the process he is inflaming opinions and distracting us from dealing with the important issues such as passing health care reform and repairing our nation. Advertisers, such as Geico, are pulling away and distancing themselves from the extremist views of Glenn Beck and his personal agenda and he is retaliating by trying to turn the public against one of the men that he feels is responsible.
Is it a desperate attempt to discredit his nay sayers in hope that he might change the minds of the fleeing advertisers? Or is it simply an act of desperation of one man on his way down trying to drag anyone else along with him that he possibly can? Either way, the facts are clear: Glenn Beck has a personal stake in ruining Van Jones and his career and he will use anything and anyone, including all of us, to do it.
