The huba huba this morning is President Obama's response to Sarah, let me see what notes I've cribbed on my hands, Palin's criticism of the Administration's nuclear policy. Ms Palin, of course, like any body, is entitled to her views, but as the President pointed out , Ms. Palin isn't an expert on nuclear policy. And I may add, she isn't much of an expert on anything.
On where else? On Fox News, last Wednesday, Palin distorted the Administration pledge, that in event of armed conflict, not to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear states, that are in compliance with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Palin, speaking to an audience of paranoid rubes who watch Fox News, compared President Obama to a kid in a playground who is asking for a punch in the face. "It's unbelievable. Unbelievable," said Palin on Sean Hannity show. "No administration in America's history would, I think, ever have considered such a step that we just found out President Obama is supporting today. It's kinda like getting out there on a playground, a bunch of kids, getting ready to fight, and one of the kids saying, 'Go ahead, punch me in the face and I'm not going to retaliate. Go ahead and do what you want to with me.'" What is unbelievable is that Fox and its wacky, right-wing, politics-showbiz personalities, pretending to be news commentators, continues to promote untruth and to distort facts. In the event that the US is attacked by non nuclear forces, the Administration, as the truth challenged Ms. Palin must know, will strike back with overwhelming non nuclear military force.
Obama, during an interview with George Stephanopoulos.of ABC news, when asked about Palin's criticisms, responded, "I really have no response. Because last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues." He went on to, "If the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff are comfortable with it (the policy), I'm probably going to take my advice from them and not from Sarah Palin."
There are many rubes who listen to Palin, Hannity, Fox News distortions, designed to build and to keep an audience, by making outrageous statements, and believe the distortions, the untruths and the right out lies. Shame on Palin, shame on Hannity. Shame on Fox News.
