That Ron Paul is not a huge fan of Barack Obama will no doubt come as a surprise to virtually no one. In a recent interview on the Huffington Post, Congressman Ron Paul had some pretty strong words to say about President Obama and his handling of foreign policy in particular.
Ron Paul sees Barack Obama as basically just another neo-con in the same mold as Bush, Cheney, and dear Old Rummy. According to Paul, under Obama's reign as commander in chief, the defense budget has been raised by 10%, the closing of Guantananamo was just a smoke screen (he believes the same activities are being carried out elsewhere) and the troops in Iraq are most assuredly not coming home.
What would Ron Paul do differently? (That's a million dollar question if I ever heard one.)
According to Paul:
- He would bring the troops home from most places in the world.
- He would bring the "bailout money" to the people.
- He would trade with Cuba and remove sanctions against Korea.
- "Treat Iran like we treated Kruschev" in that he also had weapons and threatened to bomb us, but really wasn't about to.
- Pay more attention to to Osama bin Ladin who said, "We will bring you to your knees through your bankruptcy because we are going to drag you over here and we will drain you and we will eventually bring on an economic crisis in your country" because he is winning.
