Maine's New Child Labor Law
Sometimes you hear about bills in state legislatures and you just can’t believe what they propose. That is the way I reacted to the new bill before the Maine legislature. They want to allow children in school to work up to 24 hours in a week. That is bad enough but they also want to lower their wage from the Federal minimum of $7.25 per hour to $5.25 per hour. After six months, they would be allowed to earn $7.50 unless, of course, they are fired just before that. Here is a video with details.
