If there is anyone in this country who doubts that the Republicans are planning to destroy the Social Security.program, they should look at the debate between Cenk Uygur (filling in for Dylan Ratigan on MSNBC ) and former Republican Congressman Bob McEwen. The debate gets heated, because the passions and the issues are put right out there, for, as the host Cent says, anybody to judge. See the video.

The GOP would rather have the government to continue to feed the wasteful military-industrial complex than to meet its obligations to its elderly. Note Mr McEwen's defense of wasteful military spending and his contempt for meeting America's obligation to her seniors. He is ready to throw American seniors under the bus, but he shows outrage at the thought of the military-industrial complex going without an extra dollar. Note his phony argument, which is contemptible  -- that somehow anyone who questions wasteful defense spending has contempt for America. President Eisenhower questioned wasteful defense spending and was the first President to warn against the power of the military-industrial complex. Maybe in Mr McEwen's world President Eisenhower was unAmerican.

Anyway, if anyone who depends on Social Security or has a love one who does, that person had better be wary of Mr McEwen and his party.
