The Florida man, Terry Jones, the headman of a small fifty member Florida church, has called off his stunt to burn copies of the Quran on Sept. 11 He has gathered his publicity . He drew the attention of the world. His name was spoken by international political and religious leaders. He had the President of the United States, top American political and military establishment figures wringing their hands, pleading with him. He got himself on the eleven o'clock news. Probably, he will sell more of his books, making more money for himself.

As a consequence of his attention seeking, headline grabbing, anti-Muslim stunt, he probably increased some Americans awareness of what's in the Quran. He also did damage to the America's image abroad, and has already provided anti-American extremists with much aid and comfort. Stopping his stunt, may have saved lives, but let's not forget that proposing his stunt may have put more lives in jeopardy.
