By now everybody has heard about the phony rape charge against WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, who last month leaked 90,000 secret military documents about the Afghan war, and ticked off world governments, including ours and members of the U.S. led coalition. See the video.
Dude says he is going to release a second round of leaks.
The dude should stop with any new leaks. He proved his point.
Spy dudes, and if they are innocent or not of attempting to smear the WikiLeaks dude, are guilty as charged by public opinion. The smear does smell of the perfumed stench of the CIA dudes, and of the other US and British Intelligence agencies dudes. If any of those fellas and gals were behind the attempted smear of the WikiLeaks dude, they deserve the rotten egg that has been thrown on their collective face.
That said -- the WikiLeaks dude needs to listen to the appeal of wiser heads, and not to do anything that will harm innocent Afghans, or that will weakening the anti-Al-Qaeda forces. Releasing documents that will hurt those Afghans resisting Al-Qaeda will not help to spread liberty, freedom, openness and equality. Exposing that stupid and foolish war is one thing -- and the first round of leaks, the ones published by the responsible news outlets, which deleted the names of innocent Afghans, did that.
Releasing more files that will risk exposing more names of innocent Afghans won't change U.S. and world public opinion on the Afghan war, which is solidly against that war, but it might weaken the forces resisting Al-Qaeda.
