Howard Dean, the former Vermont governor, former chairman of the Democratic Party, pointed out yesterday, Tuesday, evening that the GOP is silent about that nut in Florida who wants to burn the Quran. See the video.
It does seems as if GOP-Tea Party activists have issued a talking paper to GOP politicians, instructing them that being anti-Muslim bigots will get them votes, and so no GOP-Tea Partier should say or do anything to make the GOP seem less friendly to bigots.
Well, General David Petraeus, America's commander in Afghanistan, has made a strong statement that the burning of the Quran, by that Florida jackass, will endanger American troops. The General's statement should have provided cover for those sorry sack Republicans to stand up for American values, even at the risk of losing some of the bigot vote. But as of the time of this posting no GOP-Tea Party big wig has said a thing. Shame on them. Shame, eternal shame.
