I just read another so-and-so ‘slams’ so-and-so story on CNN. The ‘slam’ was Jeb Bush saying he didn’t know if Obama was a socialist or not and saying he should have been more honest during his campaign. That’s the ‘slam’? Damn, he slammed Obama. He slammed him so hard Obama is still trying to figure out which way is up. Oh, man, that was such a slam I bet Obama will never get another vote.

 Is anyone else tired of the news phrasing every comment between the GOP and Dems as a ‘slam’ or ‘lambasting’ as if these guys rarely insult each other? It’s very Fox News and now everyone is into it. It is an opinion word. Not once did Jeb Bush use the word ‘slam’ or anything like that. He actually said a pretty run-of-the-mill observation about pretty standard political stuff. It was hardly a slam. The same sort of sensationalist news cycle is driving the Mark Sanford case right now. The idiot stands at the podium reading sonnets about his ‘forbidden love’, the spicy Argentinean with whom he cheated on his wife, and we eat it up. I don’t know a single thing about this man’s political career. Are his laws just? Is his budget in line? Is he a good manager? I have no idea. I do know all about his love life though, which is highly relevant to national security, failing education, collapsing economies and the rest of the real problems.

 Does CNN expect that Obama will retort to this childish and inane shit stirring? Of course he won’t. Do they want me to get fired up because a Republican disagrees with Obama? It will be a long life if I did that. This is the day-to-day drudgery of politics. Why must the media partake in these schoolyard tattles? It’s like a third grader running between bullies trying to get them to fight. Jeb Bush critiquing Obama is like breathing air. Fox News uses an opinion-based style of information delivery that is designed to slant everything toward the right, CNN is moving toward gossip style information. I don’t know which is worse, because somewhere, something important isn’t being addressed while we listen to Sanford’s iambic pentameter. “Her love shined like a million stars…”
