Saying No to Anti-Muslim Bigotry.
The growing Islamophobia that is being driven by small minded, short-sighted and very foolish politicians, hoping to score political points, are following Bin Laden's playbook, which calls for plays, on the field of politics, designed to divide Muslims from Westerners, and from Christians, to convince Muslims that Christians are crusaders who want to convert or to kill them, and that for the survival of Islam, Muslims must turn to him, and to help him to achieve his prime political objective, which is to recreate the Khilafat in all Muslim and Muslim majority lands.
Those who work to divide and to alienate American Muslims from American society, are not only doing the work of the terrorist Bin Laden, but are engaging in very un-American and unpatriotic activity.
My personal belief, other than that people have a First Amendment and a human right to worship, or not to worship, as they choose, is that there are too many things in this country that divide people, and we could use with less of them, less churches, less temples and less mosques. With that said, the last thing we need to do is to create and foster stereotypes, and to judge people based on their religious affiliation. Islam is no more guilty of 9-11 and of al Qaeda's continual plots against us, which the terrorists say are done in the name of Islam, than Christianity is guilty, when fundamentalist wack jobs kill abortion doctors, blow up abortion clinics, and say that they do so in the name of Christianity.
Finally, politicians who join the hate American Muslim movement are interfering in a historic opportunity for American values to influence the Muslim world.
