3 Things the GOP should be embarassed about.

The GOP is full of embarrassing things, like Rush Limbaugh, Dick Cheney and President Bush's administration; however there are a few things the GOP should REALLY be shamed for.

 1. Opposing Health Care for All:

The GOP is all about hard work, taking care of yourself and spitting on those that can't. That is a very sad place for humanity to exist. For one reason, not all humans are CAPABLE of taking care of themselves. I heard a lobbyist on NPR bash the elderly who should have worked harder in their youth or had more kids to care for them rather than admit that the United States is failing on all fronts in the health arena. To cast the elderly, handicapped, uneducated, single parents, young and all the other groups who frequently find themselves excluded from the basic right of healthcare aside so that the insurance and pharma companies can make a bigger profit is very sad. My brother fell off a teetertotter in England, his broken clavacle was treated for free in a hospital. All we did is fill out one sheet of information. They even looked the other way that we were American.  The opposition to basic healthcare for all amounts to essentially classism, to put it politely. It should be a basic right for all Americans, even lazy grandmas with no kids. If you are a waiter with two kids and one gets sick, you should have the right as an American to see a doctor. Why is that so bad? The answer, sadly, is greed. No one wants to add even a fraction of a percent of tax increase on their income to allow for it. And thousands of lobbyists would lose their jobs. Oh yeah, the other thing is we are paying for most of them already, so put a happy face on something GOP. If people can go to a doctor regularly, their medical costs drop significantly.

 2. Blaming this mess on Obama

The whole GOP phenomenon of blaming this state of affairs all on Obama is laughable, yet still gets news coverage. The debt was skyrocketing at record pace when Bush handed that checkbook over, the real estate industry was already tanked, the war has clearly been dragging on and on and on... To blame this on Obama is like crashing your dad's car drunk then blaming it on the girl you roofied. The country was a mess when Bush termed out, then the GOP does an about face and staring at Obama, now blames a full blown financial catastrophe on him. Rediculous.

 3. Constantly Criticizing, Never Helping

Every story over the last 200 days that dealt with Republicans has been like reading a whiny gossip blog about rich old white men. "Republican leaders slice Obama's plan" "GOP blasts Dems on Health Care" "Obama soft on Iran say GOP" "Sotomayor is a racist"

Why is health care so scary? Americans have the right to carry guns, but they better have a good job that provides insurance or pays enough to buy it. Why must Obama dictate to Iran? Are they not their own nation, should we send in troops to count the votes, or maybe just install our own leader like Reagan? Why do they complain so? I guess it’s about all they can do with basically no power. The media is somewhat to blame too; they choose what to put up. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching Entertainment Tonight goes to DC. Report on solid stuff, legislation, bills and such, not gossip. Politicians are supposed to be leaders; this current batch of Republicans is falling far short of even the weakest definition of 'leader'.

WRONG...

1st off, there is a government program that gives great healthcare to anyone at the price they can afford, from no income to what you can afford on your current income..

SO, YOU GOT THAT WRONG.. it was signed into law and budgeted in 2001 (a year after the BUSH administration got in, How about that).

It is www.hrsa.gov go see for yourself how wrong you are. Need to get facts straight before making claims you cannot back up for no good reason.

2nd, the current congress and this administration cut that program's budget in half for the 2009/2010 fiscal years, in essence, preventing people that need healthcare that cannot afford it, not get it.. How about that... Go see for yourself.

My question to you is - IF the current congress, house and administration really cared about giving good healthcare to those that need it most, why would they cut that program's budget?

MY GUESS IS - you cannot have a successful program going when you are trying to pass legislation that the program would cripple or kill, if it continued to be successful..

Explain that..

And you are cool with

And you are cool with insurance companies paying hundreds of millions to individual CEOs each year?

And you are cool with those same companies denying payment for major illnesses of long-time customers?

And you are cool with more than 50% of US bankruptcies being directly caused by a family illness?

And of those bankrupt families, 50% HAD HEALTH INSURANCE.

And you are cool with getting nickel and dimed for every thing, itemized, sorted and dumped on you?

And being 37th in the world in Health Care?

And being ranked just as badly in science education, you know the subject, the one with BIOLOGY and MEDICINE?

Of those 36 other countries above us on the healthcare list, most of them are using 'socialized medicine' which costs their citizens $0 for visits, unless they take a cab. You argue like a health insurance lobbyist. You don't mind those socialized firemen and police I bet? And the privatized banking industry is so kick ass who could ever argue against that? So stop linking me to government programs. Obama's plan is TOO WEAK. they should throw corporate greed out of my healthcare once and for all.

Eliminate Insurance Companies

Insurance companies should be eliminated all together, no one should be allowed to make a proffit on the sickness and death of others.

No nation can call itself civilized and deny its citizens health care.....and yet, how many of these people call themselves Christians?
